Week 4 Monday

4 Dezembro 2023, 18:30 Maile Colbert

Class Google drive set up, including the class syllabus from last year (some changes coming up with the one I'm working on, but the basics are there), class notes from the last weeks, and files. I am still adding, and there will be additions each week.

Please make sure you have Reaper downloaded onto the computer you will be using, and your recordings for your project (I sent details on the project in the class notes in our Google Drive folder, but don't hesitate to contact me if there is still confusion).

I will have the Lab key as well, which is near our usual classroom, in case anyone would rather use those computers. I will ask Fernando if he could make sure Reaper is on them today.

I've updated the Google Drive with the films, as well as notes from last week. There is also a link on the notes to a simple Reaper tutorial, only 13 minutes for basics. I'm be going over some of the plug ins we spoke of, but feel free to ask if you would like to start working with them now, I can send.

For those of you who want to start working with some other sounds in your project, I recommend for now registering and exploring Freesound.org.

The "deadline" for this project is in two weeks, next week we will go over more in Reaper, and finally have the recording equipment and recording devices workshops. Please bring your laptops if you will use them (the lab will be open for using as well), and headphones.
